successful people

“You’ve got to be willing to do whatever it takes” early in your career. “I was willing to work for free, I was willing to work any hours they needed — even on evenings and weekends.” — Kinjil Mathur, Squarespace CMO

I agree, but we call this “volunteering.” 😂 It’s appropriate in non-profits, clubs, and community organizations you enjoy & are energized to participate in, not Fortune 500 companies trying to bleed you dry.

Organize with your friends. Find a cause you believe in. Have fun with it! If you start your career debasing yourself in drudgery for someone else’s profit, you won’t acquire the leadership & critical thinking skills you need and you’ll suffer for it.

I’m really exhausted by malicious clickbait from “successful” people trying to drag you down with them.
